Kathleen M. Egan CPA PLLC is licensed in the States of Arizona as a firm of Certified Public Accountants. This designation is the ultimate achievement in the accounting profession. To become a CPA, a person must attain stringent educational, experience and background requirements, and pass a rigorous examination. To remain licensed, the CPA must comply with a strict code of professional ethics and participate in regular continuing education and training. As a result of this kind of discipline, the CPA has become accepted by the business community as one of the most capable and trusted financial team players.

Kathleen M. Egan CPA, MCA, CFE, CGMA

Kathy is a California native, a graduate of Santa Clara University(BSC), Golden Gate University(MBA), with additional post-graduate coursework completed at Arizona State University.

Prior to owning her own CPA firm, Kathy’s experience included a variety of increasingly responsible accounting and financial management roles in different industries including defense, engineering, energy, and education, both in the USA and overseas. Kathy began this firm in 2008.

Kathy provides tax planning, tax preparation, accounting, valuation and forensic accounting services to individuals and businesses. Bilingual in English and French, Kathy has developed a niche market of expats all over the globe for whom she provides accounting and tax services, combining her work with her passion for travel.

Dotty Beemer, Office Manager

Dotty Beemer has been with the company as the Office Manager since the year 2000! Her responsibilities include billing, scheduling appointments, handling phone calls, assembling tax returns, quarterly and sales tax reports, and setting up LLCs and Corporations. She is a Public Notary.

Dotty grew up in Independence and Salem Oregon, attended Oregon State University, worked for KBZY Radio station as a traffic manager for 3 years, moved to Seattle, WA in 1976 and was employed by Independent Order of Foresters for 6 years and Blue Cross Blue Shield for 2 years, then moved to Arizona in 1987.

She raised a family of 3 children, who are grown & out of the house. She enjoys staying busy with her 3 grandchildren, movies, reading, gardening and traveling.

Therese Frawley, Accountant/Lead Bookkeeper

Therese started here in January, 2016 . She is our full charge bookkeeper and has been working in the field since 1988. She started working at a CPA firm in the Chicago suburbs, then worked in the accounting office of a privately owned restaurant chain before moving to the Phoenix area.

Therese brings experience in all aspects of bookkeeping using QuickBooks software. She is also proficient in the preparation of all city and state sales tax returns. She is knowledgeable in account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and monthly compilation reports.

She works very closely with our business clients, maintaining their accounting records, sorting out unreconciled messes, and even training clients on bookkeeping and accounting.

Jo Fuson, CPA (Retired)

Jo attended the University of Wyoming and received a BS in Accounting.  She spent the next 30 years as a controller for three mid-size corporations in the Phoenix area.  During that time, she was responsible for all facets of accounting, the preparation of financial statements, year-end reporting and working with auditors and tax preparers.  She managed an accounting staff of 5 to 15 accountants, bookkeepers and clerks.

Jo also served on a task force committee for BMO Harris, Chicago for stream-lining banking services and served as Treasurer for the Scottsdale Memorial Hospital Credit Union.

She retired from that role in 2012 and came here in 2013 to work during the tax season.  She gathers and organizes information and prepares businesses and personal tax returns.

In the off-season, Jo travels, spends time in her mountain cabin and plays with her great-grandson.
